Mid-Year LDJC and Post-Fellowship Conversation
The Mid Year LDJC Conversation is for you to step back and reflect on your growth towards your commitments to self, other and India. It will help you make connections between how you have evolved as a teacher- leader and your outcomes. This will also be an opportunity for you to start solidifying/concretizing the role you wish to play in the movement towards ed-equity post your Fellowship. You will leverage the reflection you have made in the last few months about your evolving Personal Theory of Change, explore the need of the ed landscape around and bring those two together to identify the pathways and domains you envision yourself working in. This conversation will be anchored in fostering that clarity and deciding next steps to build conviction in the same!

Induction
Induction week is here and Welcome to the Movement! This is where you will come together with Fellows from across the country to understand Teach For India's vision and mission better, where you begin deep diving into what educational inequity really means and where your role fits into it. You hear from and interact with a wide range of stakeholders from students, different staff members, teachers and of course, your peers! This week will take you through a roller coaster of experiences and emotions as you fluctuate between exploring the truth and hope of education and our country. You will feel surprised and you will feel hopeful..but most of all, you will begin to feel connected and part of a Movement.

Getting to know my people
An integral part of the Fellowship journey is the people you work with, and the relationships you create with each one of them. Through the first few weeks of Institute, you will begin to learn about who they are and their stories, why they are a part of the system and what drives them. You will meet and get to know your LearningCircle better, this is a group of Fellows and your Manager, who you will spend a lot of time at Institute and go through a series of experiences together. And of course, the most exciting of all...you will be allocated to a classroom which you will serve for the next 2 years. In these weeks, you will spend a lot of time getting to know your students, their parents and members of their communities, as well as the staff that works in the school you are placed in.

Learning to plan for culture and instruction
As you get to know your people, it is vital for you to understand where they come from and what their needs are, so that you can plan towards these accordingly. The first step towards this is planning for and designing a culture of joy, safety and belonging in your classroom where every child and stakeholder feels invested in the learning. You will also learn about the 'how' of teaching where you are introduced to the principles of backward planning, different methods of instruction and decision making in the blended learning world.

First day of teaching
One of the most memorable milestones in your entire Fellowship journey will be the first day of teaching in your classroom! It will be a rollercoaster of emotions and we will take Ms Courage and Mr Creativity with us on this ride! It will be an experience that gives you an insight into the craft of teaching, preparing for a lesson, managing your energy in classroom and leveraging the budding relationships you have built with your students! This day will bring, in equal parts, a lot of excitement and nerves, but you will have all your peers and support system to fall back on! Teaching will be your superpower and that journey begins right here!

Immersing myself in content
While you spent the first few weeks of Institute exploring the work we do, getting to know your people and the "how" of teaching in Pedagogy and Culture weeks, you will now head into an exciting and learning-filled territory of "what" to teach. Here, we will explore the vision of excellence for each content area we teach- literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies. You will get to experience masterclasses as learners to see what's possible in our approach to teaching the content and gain the knowledge, skills and orientations needed to be day 1 ready teachers for the same! Each week, you will explore a new content and this will entail its vision, the frameworks and processes we follow to meet that vision, exploring curricular resources, planning/executing a lesson in that content and getting feedback on the same!

Strengthening Teaching Practice
The first few months of the 2nd year are all about gaining depth and mastery in the competencies you have built in Year 1 to deliver the strongest outcomes with your students in the classroom. Together, your students and you work towards bringing alive your classroom vision and culture plan. You will engage with multiple resources, opportunities, and experiences that will consistently push your vision of excellence of what transformational outcomes can look like. Here is where you step out of your comfort zone further, experiment, and customize your teaching practices to empower every single child in your classroom.

Stage Three Milestones
Story of Us and Showcase of Learning
And just like that, it will be time for us to close out Institute- the first leg of your adventurous journey of the Fellowship! You are as ready as can be, to step into your classrooms and start teaching independently! With your Learning Circle and your PM, you will take this opportunity to pause and present your learning, growth and journey so far in "Story of Us". It's a beautiful time to listen and share authentically, deeply to all that has happened over the 2 months! You will also get an opportunity to present your learning through different ways in your End of Institute Showcase, which will help you as well as your team and PM know how far you have come in this time and the various competencies you have grown in!

Student Mid-Year Assessments
At the end of the first half of the year, your students will answer the National standardized assessment. Through this process, they will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learnt through that time. You will know how much each student has learnt and what they are struggling with and gauge the effectiveness of your interventions (differentiation, unit plans, the summer learning packets, etc.) During this time, you will also spend time with each child and their parents to celebrate the holistic progress they have made and identify ways for them to strengthen the same. This will give both you and your students clear next steps to enhance their learning through the second half of the year and optimize that time to achieve the goals and vision you set for yourselves.
